Well designed usually means very well thought
Doing cruda taught me a lot about thinking both in the macro and the micro level. How every design on the typographic realm impacted a whole spread, then the rhythm of the whole magazine. That meant a lot of back and forth at the beginning, but it got easier to spot those decisions after a while designing for print.
Talking of print, the amount of work put into preparing the print for file and triple-checking every detail taught me more than any theory class about final arts. I had to go twice to the printing in order to get it just right. But it is really satisfying to see your exact vision come to life.
Had I had more time (or resources, in the end, this was an educational project), I think the ideal scenario would have meant developing the other two covers I initially designed. And, to maybe refine better the contents. The ideas behind each monographic would have meant doing interviews of doing specific shootings.
Honestly, I am very proud of the results of my first extended editorial project. It got a very good praise both on the Internet and in person! It even flew me an Adobe MAX in 2025. The 5 best invested months :)
